Weekend Get-Away!

A relaxing, sunny, wine-filled weekend together. We celebrated an early Valentines Day last weekend with a trip to Traverse City. Our first get-away since Carson arrived, almost a year-We were long overdue for some couple time! Carson is the light of our lives and we love to spend every possible minute we can with him, but we've also decided we need to make time for just us a priority. Well, at least more than once a year!

After an afternoon of wine tasting we tried our luck at the casino. Ryan got his "fix"on the Blackjack table while I stuck to the slots. I hit it "big" on Wheel of Fortune, enough to cover our authentic Mexican dinner back in town.

Despite our plan to sleep in, our built in alarm clocks made sure we were wide eyed and ready to start the day by 6 a.m.

Carson had a fun weekend playing with his Grandma Kathy. I don't think he even realized we were gone :)

Big News!

It's official - Carson can walk!!!

He's been taking "baby steps" over the past few weeks but now he's really cruising! He's still pretty wobbly but he's doing great at his newest skill. We're so proud of our little guy, and he thinks he's pretty cool as well. He gets so excited when he's on a roll and cruising across the room - once he realizes what he's doing he lets out a squeal and starts waving his hands, and then of course he falls on his little butt. Thank goodness for all of that extra "padding!"

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

We were happy to babysit baby Brady for a few hours last weekend while Josh and Amber went to a wedding. He's such a sweet baby and we love to watch him whenever we get the chance. He's so alert now and full of smiles. Carson was a little uncertain about him at first as he's not used to sharing our undivided attention or our laps, but he warmed up after a bit. They'll be good buddies very soon. Doesn't Carson look like a giant next to him?!

Earlier in the day Andrea and little Kyle invited us over for a Saturday afternoon play-date. The moms got in some long overdue catching up while the boys crawled through cool tunnels and played with some of Kyle's new Christmas presents from Santa. They are at a fun age now where they really have fun playing and sharing(except when they have to share the chair :) See below...

Andrea shared some very exciting news with us---Kyle is going to be a big brother at the end of summer! Congratulations Andrea and Chad. What wonderful news!
